Brain metastasis is uncommon at the time of initial diagnosis.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It usually occurs later, after previous treatment, when the disease has progressed to an advanced metastatic stage.<\/span><\/p><h2><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><b>How Does Breast Cancer Spread to the Brain?<\/b><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"translation-block\">Brain metastasis typically develops in advanced disease. It may: spread locally to the brain\nor spread to other organs.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">About half of patients have multiple brain lesions at diagnosis. Common locations include:<\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Cerebellum<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Frontal lobe<\/li><\/ul><h2><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><b>Key Risk Factors<\/b><\/span><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most important factor is tumor subtype.<\/span><\/p><h3><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><b>High-Risk Subtypes<\/b><\/span><\/h3><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">HER2-positive breast cancer<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Triple-negative breast cancer<\/li><\/ul><h3><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><b>Additional Risk Factors<\/b><\/span><\/h3><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially diagnosed at stage II\u2013III<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High-grade, fast-growing tumors<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\" class=\"translation-block\">Large primary tumors with lymph node involvement<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incomplete or suboptimal treatment<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h2><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\"><b>Symptoms of Brain Metastasis<\/b><\/span><\/h2><p class=\"translation-block\">Some patients may have no symptoms and are diagnosed through imaging. Historically, the average age of diagnosis of brain metastasis was about 6 months. However, with new surgical techniques, radiation therapy, and medications, the disease can now be controlled for many years. A number of patients live longer and healthier lives, and some respond well to treatment.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Breast cancer that has metastasized to the brain is rare in its early stages, but it can occur in advanced stages, especially in HER2 and triple-negative types.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Early detection and diagnosis of abnormalities allow for appropriate treatment planning. Advances in treatment methods have significantly helped to extend lifespan and improve quality of life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
