Endometrial Cancer: What You Need to Know
Endometrial cancer is a type of cancer that originates in the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium). It is most commonly found in women over the age of 50, particularly those who have gone through menopause.
Risk factors
- Hormonal imbalance (excess estrogen without progesterone)
- Obesity
- Early menstruation or late menopause
- Never being pregnant
- Family history of uterine cancer
- Certain medications such as tamoxifen
Symptoms to Watch For
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding (especially after menopause)

Diagnosis
- Pelvic exam
- Transvaginal ultrasound
- Endometrial biopsy

Treatment Options

- Radiation therapy – To reduce the risk of recurrence
